GLYCA started with a simple idea: diabetes essentials shouldn’t have to look medical.

I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at 16, during a time when confidence and finding my personal identity already felt like such a big part of being a teenager. Suddenly, I had to carry insulin, glucose monitors, snacks and other essentials everywhere I went. It made me feel different, self conscious and frustrated that something I needed every day didn’t feel like it reflected who I was.

I wanted a solution that felt more like me, something trendy, discreet and practical that I could actually feel confident carrying.

That’s where GLYCA began. I created a bag designed around the everyday realities of living with diabetes, without compromising on style.

Because diabetes is part of my life, but it doesn’t define who I am and it shouldn’t define my style either.
